DTF & Shop Cost
Vinyl Roll Calculator
Estimate vinyl length and material cost for a run of identical designs on a roll.
How it works
Count how many designs fit across the roll, then how many rows you need for the quantity.Length used = rows × design height + gaps.
Cost = (feet used ÷ roll feet) × roll price.
Worked example
4×4 designs on 12 in roll, 50 pcs, 0.25 in gap → multiple across, length and $/design update live in the result panel.Cost control
| Issue | Fix |
|---|---|
| Design wider than roll | Rotate art or buy wider roll |
| High weed time | Raise setup fee — material is not the only cost |
| Short leftovers | Batch similar jobs on one roll |
Frequently asked questions
Does this include transfer tape?
No — add tape as a separate consumable if you use it.
Does this include weeding waste?
Spacing helps, but heavy weeding scrap still needs a waste buffer in your cost.
Can I nest rotated shapes?
This tool uses a practical grid estimate. Complex nesting may save more material in dedicated software.
How do I price the job after length?
Convert area to cost with Square Inches to Square Feet or your $/ft rate, then add labour in Print Pricing.
