Shops lose money when setup time is free and markup is guessed. Enter unit cost, markup multiplier, quantity, and a setup/digitizing fee to produce a line-item quote total and estimated profit.

Pair this with the DTF Cost Calculator for unit cost, then price the job here.

How it works

Unit sell = unit cost × markup.
Subtotal = unit sell × quantity.
Quote total = subtotal + setup fee.

Profit assumes setup fee is mostly margin after art time — adjust in your shop policy.

Worked example

Unit cost $2.15, 2.5× markup → $5.38 each.
24 pieces → $129.12 + $25 setup = $154.12 quote.

Markup starting points

Job type Typical markup range
DTF transfers only 2×–3×
Short-run custom 2.5×–4× + setup
Wholesale repeat 1.4×–2×

Frequently asked questions

Does this include blank garment cost?

Include garment cost inside unit production cost, or run a separate line for apparel.

Are Print Pricing Calculator results exact for production?

Treat them as planning estimates. Calibrate against your equipment, invoices and waste logs before you lock customer quotes.

Do my inputs leave my browser?

No. PressMath calculators run client-side. Only the contact form sends data you intentionally submit.

What should I do after I get a number?

Open a related calculator or guide on this page, sanity-check units, then verify on a sample before a full run.
